Three new Minerva Centers in 2019

In early 2018, Minerva issued a call for proposals for new Minerva Centers in relation to the topic of "Aging". Minerva received proposals from a variety of research areas and from nearly all universities. In late February 2019, the Centers Committee, which is responsible for selecting and assessing applications for new centers, met in Jerusalem for its final meeting. The following three proposals were selected for funding

1. Prof. Tova Band Winterstein - University of Haifa, Dept. of Gerontology
"Building bridges between multiple marginalized older adults and mainstream society"

2. Prof. Haim Cohen - Bar-Ilan University, Faculty of Life Sciences
"Biological mechanisms of healthy aging"

3. Prof. Itamar Procaccia - Weizmann Institute of Science, Dept. of Chemical Physics
"Aging, from physical materials to human tissues"
